Ho... Ho....HO!
This Santa was pretty good, however the staff running the show was so bad, that is was actually quite funny. It reminded me of the scene in the Movie "A Christmas Story" When the two boys go to visit Santa in the mall. The young photographer and his assistant were arguing with each other. I heard the younger of the two, call the other an a-hole under his breath. They made fun the the "dorky" hat that they were wearing. I think Santa's helpers shared a full set of teeth between the three of them. and then they put on fake smiles. As they lead the kids to sit on Santa's lap. It was so much like the movie, that when Jason and I met up with Darren on the other side.. I couldn't help myself, and said "Ho, Ho, HO!" just like the Santa did in the movie as he was kicking Ralphie down the slide. The upside was that Santa was pretty nice, and really that was the most important. Jason was excited to tell him what he wished for and that made his day.

Why Pink Pool Noodle
I chose the name for this blog for a couple of reasons. I wanted something that was different enough from other blogs, and something that has meaning to me.
About 4 years ago. We had bought the kids a large pool for the back yard. One that was big enough for all of us to get in and enjoy. After we set the pool up we went to get some other items for the kids to enjoy in the pool. The boys both picked up a pool noodle. One was green and the other was blue. As a Mom of boys, these are the colours that I see the most. Darren and I had already made the decision at that time to not have anymore children, so I made a comment to him about the fact that we will never get to have anything pink.
A few days later we were all going to take a family swim in the pool. While Darren and I were taking off the cover, the boys were getting all the "stuff" to play with. In the armful of things that they collected from the shed.... was a pink pool noodle. The boys didn't have any girl friends in the neighbourhood that would play in our pool so I had no idea where it came from. I asked Darren and he said that it was for me. Too this day, that is my most treasured gift that I have ever received because of the thought behind it, and it was something totally unexpected. It was a recongition of the fact that even though I am out numbered 3 to 1 (6 to 1 if you count the cats) as the ONLY girl and that even though I live with boys.... I can still have a pink pool noodle.

Something New
Welcome to my new blog!
Today was the first day off I have had in a long time where I didn't have any appointments, or errands..... so I went shopping!!!
Shopping for me is picking up the things I need, like a bra or a pair of shoes. I rarely shop for the sake of just looking around. On my way to the shoe store however, I spotted this little baby (photo above) in the window of Bowring. I NEVER buy decorating stuff. It has to be something really cool for me to buy it.... and this is. The colours are perfect for my family room downstairs. Each of the blocks is about 8" square and it is embossed tin. Now do decide where to put it in the room.
